The Cuisinart Griddler GR-4N is the most versatile contact grill on the market. It can be used as an open grill to double its cooking space, and its reversible grill plates allow it to also function as a griddle. Reviewers like its adjustable hinge, which is helpful when grilling thick panini sandwiches. Owners also praise its removable, reversible, dishwasher-safe grill plates, which are easier to remove thanks to recent design improvements. Several owners, however, say the thermostat control isn’t accurate, and others say the grease cups are too light and spill easily. For those on a budget, the DeLonghi Indoor Grill and Panini Press CGH800 earns favorable user reviews (though it lacks removable plates and cannot double as a griddle)

We registered for the Cuisinart griddler and received it as a wedding gift. This was the one thing my husband wanted more than anything else and was so excited when we got it. We live in an apartment, so this is the closest thing we get to grilling on a daily/weekly basis. We grill steaks, pork chops, chicken breasts- they all turn out great. We have made some very tasty panini’s and quesadillas. Oh, did I mention how handy it is for cooking breakfast- pancakes on one side, eggs on the other. I think what we both like the most about the griddler is being able to pop out the plates and stick them in the dishwasher. It can’t get any easier than that! We loved ours so much that we bought one for my dad for Christmas! I HIGHLY recommend the griddler!!

When it deals with a selection of a decent griddler it is so hard to make a right choice due to the fact many units in this category of kitchen appliances are not quality enough to fit even the standard requirements. That is why I was quite skeptical when my wife chose to buy Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler couple months ago. It turned out to be a good investment of money and I want to explain in details why I advice everyone to buy the Cuisinart GR-4N machine.
I would like to start from description of the Cuisinart GR-4N unit’s parts and major features. It is pretty much solid with usage of stainless steel cover and a cast-metal handle for adjusting the unit in order to fit thickness of placed within food. All cooking plates of the Cuisinart GR-4N are easy to remove and clean even if you use a dishwasher. The machine has a grill side for cooking perfectly fried steaks, chicken, meat burgers and veggies and there is also a griddle side for making pancakes, bacon or eggs.
The machine is completely automatic with easy-to-use controls offering convenient indicator signals which can be whether switched on or off showing the unit’s ability to start cooking. There is also a selector option for switching between different regimes of Grill/Griddle/Panini. All regimes can be regulated according to a temperature adjustment option (starting from 200°F and up to 425°F). Usually other griddlers are bad when it concerns drip trays. In the Cuisinart’s GR-4N machine this problem was successfully solved and a drip tray is very easy to apply because it collects grease making it safer to clean the unit in a dishwasher. Along with the machine was supplied a scrapping instrument for making a grill surface and plates cleaner after a messy cooking process.

As I have already said the Cuisinart GR-4N can be used in multiple ways. I counted 5 possible variants of usage:
1) Panini Press Unit – for cooking sandwiches and breads.
2) Contact Grill – for preparing of standard burgers and meat bone-free pieces or maybe thin layers of meat or veggies.
3) Fully-functioning grill – you will be able to cook steaks or poultry, filleted fish with this regime of the Cuisinart GR-4N appliance.
4) Completely-functioning griddle – if you need to griddle pancakes, French toasts, bacon or eggs choose this regime of the Cuisinart’s griddler.
5) Switch to the so-called half-griddle/half-grill regime – if you want to cook at the same time eggs and bacon.
To sum up my feedback I would like to mention the major pros of the Cuisinart GR-4N unit. It is very compact by size which makes it extremely easy keep even in a small kitchen. This griddler is also heating up in a quick and smooth way. It is very safe to use within a house and it works flawlessly both in open and closed modes depending on the used food type. My rating for the Cuisinart’s grinder is steady 10 from 10.
