I was looking for a decent cocktail unit for few months when I found out about Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction Maker. At first the price seemed expensive for such unit far from a broad-spectrum league but then it turned out this maker is perfect not just for mixing Margaritas and similar alcoholic drinks but also for smoothies. So it will certainly do for parties and everyday usage.
Referring to the technical nuances of the Margaritaville DM2000 unit I must admit there are a lot of pros which explain the price for this particular cocktail mixer. Foremost, this tool is very powerful (550 Watt) and safe from this point of view, being grounded. As for its main function – mixing – it is completely automatic and is set up by default to mix all placed within the unit ingredients and ice in right proportions. For those who is looking for perfection in mixing favorite cocktails there are included 4 pre-ready drink cycles. The controls are extremely easy to use, at least I figured out them in few minutes after reading the manual. There are front accessible buttons to apply.
The unit seems to be not as compact as I initially expected but I have a spacious kitchen to get for it a separate, not under a counter, place. The Margaritaville DM2000 model is quite stable, made on die-cast aluminum base and has a dual motor which is pretty good for such niche unit. The appliance also has a convenient drip-free spout.

As I have already mentioned I bought the Margaritaville’s DM2000 for my home parties since my wife and my buddies like to drink Margaritas, but the manual proves the unit is powerful enough to serve at a restaurant’s party.
Many people compare the DM2000 with the DM1000 which are basically the same but the main difference, as I was told, is in the capacity. If you are looking for a cocktail mixer for parties not just for your needs then boldly take the DM2000 model by Margaritaville.
Along with the unit was supplied a book of recipes and it took me some time to figure out how to use the appliance to mix the cocktails according to these recipes. But I have no doubts everyone can handle the unit’s controls because they are very easy to use. The appliance is of high quality but there is one obvious drawback – the model is very hard to clean, especially the dripping part where water goes through because it is very narrow to wash whether by hand or in a dishwasher.
I can’t say that I am completely satisfied with its spout because if you use thick glasses then be ready to hold them still while pouring the mixture from the unit. It may be inconvenient but I like the unit for its fast and quality work and I am ready to face minor inconveniences. Just thought everyone would like to know the model is not as perfect as the manufacturers say. However, there are not so many better alternatives, so I would recommend ignoring the minor problems and enjoying perfect drinks the Margaritaville DM2000 delivers. With a one-year-warranty, the purchase of this appliance seems to be a good investment.
