I rarely leave feedbacks because I guess everyone deserves to have his own opinion but when it comes to Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5-1/2-Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker and Warmer – I say objectively that all people interested in such specific units should definitely buy it.
I agree that many folks, especially males, will find buying the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10’s rice cooker as wasting money for an expensive toy but do not be hurry to judge so quickly. The nice cover of this kitchen appliance hides more than you could imagine. I also thought that such units are quite specific when it comes to cooking, but it turns out that this rice cooker and warmer by Zojirushi is also perfect for another purposes. Personally I also exploit it for cooking soups and porridge meals because basically this appliance is far beyond a usual rice cooker. It is more like a capacious and modified crock pot which can serve efficiently not just for rice producing machine but also for cooking lots of other stuff. I should say for such price you get a perfect kitchen machine which can actually cook instead of you. I place all ingredients I need in the evening, set up a timer and the next morning a flavored porridge is already waiting for me.
I mentioned the capacity of the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 is really impressive – 5 ½ “small” cups – which is good for cooking a rice meal for 4 persons. No wonder that the unit is smart enough because all modern machines have the Element IQ integrated. The whole model is fully computerized with pre-programmed LCD clock, timer and warming regimes like automatic and extended keep-warm, reheat settings. Thanks to the ultimate design the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 has a sphere-like pan with a non-stick cover for more profound heating during cooking. In addition to the machine I also received a recipe book, a detailed tutorial how to use the unit, 2 cups for rice measuring and a spoon/scooper which is also nonstick.

Overviewing all these technical details I am glad I replaced my old rice cooker with this particular machine. It has a one-year warranty and so far it works 5 months smoothly.
At first it seemed complicated to figure out how all these settings are turned on/off and installed but eventually with a help of the included manual I managed to set up a timer and warming-up regimes. I can’t say I am a tech savvy but it didn’t take much time to figure out how this programmed unit works.
I understand those people who hate cleaning up their kitchen appliances. From this perspective the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 fits everyone who likes an idea of simple cleaning. The parts that will require cleaning after cooking are easily detachable. Cleaning won’t take much of time. But be careful, it is easy to scratch the pot’s lid while washing up.
This unit is definitely not about money wasting since it is good enough for cooking all sorts of rice including the specific brown rice meals. This sort of rice requires another regime to set up but it is worth of such effort because brown rice becomes nicely flavored and soft which can’t be reached if you use standard kitchen machines.
I would recommend this machine for everyone who likes to cook rice meals and porridge because only with such specific unit it is possible to make culinary masterpieces using your favorite ingredients.
